The Skipper

Skipper Charles has a long history in fishing in Europe and on the ocean of the north & south coast of France where he spent most of his time.

Not only catching sea bass to massive river pikes but also spearfishing & catching Breton lobsters.

Charles also has an immense passion for cooking. Being from Luxembourg in the middle of Europe gives the perfect base for cooking skills in the french & mediterranean kitchen. If you book one of our fish & cooking trips, you will be in for a culinary ride. Kitted out with an onboard Traeger, there are almost no limits.

Who we are

A travel agency is a private retailer or public service that provides travel and tourism-related services to the general public on behalf of accommodation or travel suppliers. Travel agencies can provide outdoor recreation activities, airlines, car rentals, cruise lines, hotels, railways, travel insurance, package tours, insurance, guide books, public transport timetables, car rentals, and bureau de change services. Travel agencies can also serve as general sales agents for airlines that do not have offices in a specific region.

A travel agency's main function is to act as an agent, selling travel products and services on behalf of a supplier. They do not keep inventory in-hand unless they have pre-booked hotel rooms or cabins on a cruise ship for a group travel event such as a wedding, honeymoon, or another group event.

Travel agencies often receive commissions and other benefits and incentives from providers or may charge a fee to the end-users. Hotel owners and tour operators typically pay a higher commission rate to travel agencies, whereas airlines typically pay a low commission. The customer is normally not made aware of how much the travel agent is earning in commissions and other benefits.

Responsible Tourism

Ecological/Environmental Impact

Travel by water often provided more comfort and speed than land-travel, at least until the advent of a network of railways in the 19th century. Travel for the purpose of tourism is reported to have started around this time when people began to travel for fun as travel was no longer a hard and challenging task. This was capitalized on by people like Thomas Cook selling tourism packages where trains and hotels were booked together. Airships and airplanes took over much of the role of long-distance surface travel in the 20th century, notably after the Second World War where there was a surplus of both aircraft and pilots.

Social/Cultural Impact

There are many definitions and understandings of responsible tourism. According to the Center for Responsible Tourism, responsible tourism can be defined as, tourism that maximizes the benefits to local communities, minimizes negative social or environmental impacts, and helps local people conserve fragile cultures and habitats or species. Responsible tourism incorporates not only respond with the physical environment but also an incorporation of awareness for the economic and social interactions whereas, sustainable tourism focuses more on the environmental impacts.

Focusing in particular on businesses, according to the Cape Town Declaration on Responsible Tourism, it will have the following characteristics:

  • minimizes negative economic, environmental, and social impacts
  • generates greater economic benefits for local people and enhances the well-being of host communities, improves working conditions and access to the industry
  • involves local people in decisions that affect their lives and life chances
  • makes positive contributions to the conservation of natural and cultural heritage, to the maintenance of the world’s diversity
  • provides more enjoyable experiences for tourists through more meaningful connections with local people, and a greater understanding of local cultural, social and environmental issues
  • provides access for people with disabilities and
  • is culturally sensitive, engenders respect between tourists and hosts, and builds local pride and confidence.
